Lauren Hudson

Lauren is President and CEO of The Wells Companies, a family of design entities that includes Wells Textiles, Wells Abbott Showrooms, Wells Design Interiors, Wells Warehouse and Cottage Textiles. The dynamic female force behind the businesses, Lauren has found many synergies from being an interior designer, running a showroom, and acquiring textile brands that have driven her to create a group of companies where each entity strengthens the other and provides a better experience for clients and fellow designers. Championing the best of design is important to Hudson, who strives to position her showrooms and collections at the forefront of today’s design industry. Lauren received her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Oklahoma. Before establishing The Wells Companies, Lauren enjoyed a diverse career that ranged from teaching high school in Houston’s inner-city to leading the campus recruiting efforts for Arthur Andersen.

In her leisure, Lauren enjoys spending time in her kitchen cooking for loved ones and finding inspiration in the decorative arts and historical settings.

Michael Flores

Michael was born and raised in Lake Jackson, Texas. A small town on the gulf coast not far from Houston. As an only child, imagination was never in short supply. Michael felt a powerful connection to the arts and found his passion in interior design after college. He joined the ranks of a well-known and respected showroom in Dallas, where he officially began his career. With over 15 years in the industry, Michael brings his leadership experience and operations expertise to The Wells Companies. His career journey has been marked by many with an unwavering love for their craft. Michael is devoted to sharing his passion and passing on the values imparted by his mentors to the next generation of leaders and creators who will continue to shape our industry for years to come.

Katrina Couch

Showroom Sales Manager, Dallas

Katrina was born and raised in Dallas. She developed a love for textiles at an early age and continued to grow her knowledge through the Fashion Merchandising program at the University of North Texas. She brings a diverse sales background to the Wells Abbott team. Having spent time in the Real Estate industry as well as working for Emily Summers and Culp Associates. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants in Dallas.

Betty Tuva

Design Director

Betty brings nearly twenty years of textile industry experience and a lifelong passion for pattern, color, and antique materials to Wells Textiles. Her worldly experience from growing up in Kenya to living in Bangkok and traveling the globe adds to her appreciation and historical foundation for the cultural impact on textiles. She has refined her keen eye and attention to detail and color over the years working under talented design directors at Jim Thompson and Dessin Fournir. Betty received her bachelor’s in design from The University of Nairobi and a master’s degree from The Philadelphia Textile School with additional course work at The Rhode Island School of Design. After spending several years in Kansas, Betty and her daughter now reside in Houston and enjoy exploring the city’s art, food, parks and culture.

Ken Weil

Territory Sales Manager, Southwest Region

Ken began his career in outside sales within the design industry nearly 25 years ago here in his hometown of Dallas.

After a fourteen year stint in Chicago, working for some of the leading showrooms in the Merchandise Mart, Ken is thrilled to be back in Dallas and a part of the Wells Abbott team as their ambassador on the road.

Ken’s travels will take him to Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas as the official purveyor of Wells Abbott’s extraordinary collection of Textiles, Furniture, and Lighting. Ken is very passionate about what he does and values the relationships he creates from his road travels.

When Ken isn’t travelling for work, you might find him at the Nasher Sculpture Center, his favorite restaurant, or doing a power walk on the Katy Trail.

Elaine graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor degree in Interior Design. After school, she worked at Holly Hunt beginning as a sample librarian and worked up to sales support for contract sales. Elaine is currently the Operations Manager for The Wells Companies, helping process orders and providing excellent customer service. In her spare time, Elaine enjoys going for walks with her husband and sweet pup Millie and reading for her book club.

Whitney brings more than fifteen years of experience in public relations and marketing communications in corporate, non-profit and agency environments to The Wells Companies. A hiatus from the corporate world to raise three children led Whitney to discover her enthusiasm and appreciation for design. Whitney is delighted to join the team and use her writing, editing, event and project management skills. She is passionate about details, effective communication, and results. A graduate of The University of Alabama, Whitney also has taken classes at The Art Institute of Houston under the Interior Design program.
