Pintura Studio's collection of hand-printed fabrics and wallpapers grew out of a belief in products that are made by hand from start to finish, whether it is hand-cut stencils that are then turned into silkscreens, sourcing silks in India that are still woven by hand, or screen printing by hand in Brooklyn.
Artisanal and mellifluous products made by hand, from start to finish.

CHRIS ISLES AND ED ROLLINS
Ed Rollins, a native of Louisville, KY, attended Pratt Institute and Columbia University, where he studied illustration and art history. Chris Isles, a Canadian who grew up in Massachusetts, graduated from Parsons School of Design with a degree in Fashion Design. They both apprenticed with two of New York's most accomplished decorative painters in the 1980's, John Fischer and Patrick Boivin, who worked with the world's top interior designers.
Founded in 1996 by Christine Isles and Ed Rollins after several years as decorative painters, with a specialty in hand-stenciled floors and walls. When the late interior designer Mica Ertegun of MACII asked them to stencil a whole new world of home decor onto fabric, it opened up to them.
