Inspired primarily by the Italian decorative arts, landscape and way of life, the PG Tessuti collection has been created to complement elegant interiors wherever they are found, from smart English sitting rooms and relaxed American country houses to the glamorous urban pied-à-terres that dot all the most exciting cities around the world.

Patrick Gallagher has been making the world a better-looking place since he was a child in South Bend, Indiana. His extensive creative background includes training at the Fashion Institute of Technology, fashion design in Milan, photography styling for The New York Times and New York Magazine, and serving as Director of Visual Merchandising at F. Schumacher and Co. Since 1993, Patrick has created residential interiors for discerning clients in both Europe and the United States.

In 2009, Patrick relocated to Rome for what was meant to be a six-month sabbatical but turned into home. The European setting shaped a collection of woven textiles, but when the mill behind that collection closed, the line was left in limbo. Thus, the inception of PG Tessuti in partnership with Neil Sherring resolved it all.

Neil Sherring's passion for creative design and collecting art led to this great adventure. In helping gallery clients with their own decorating projects, Neil enjoyed it so much that he studied at the renowned Inchbald School of Design in London. It was whilst seeking a unique fabric solution for one of his interior design projects that Neil came across the website of Patrick Gallagher. A conversation ensued, and before long, the development of PG Tessuti was underway.

The overarching inspiration remains firmly Italian, yet the designs are created for modern life anywhere good design is valued. The palette reflects the breadth of Italy’s natural beauty and also takes into consideration the differences in use and the quality of light where these textiles will ultimately find their homes.
