Burnley Chimneypiece - Stazzema

The jambs and header of this chimneypiece are carved in a soft bolection curve, each jamb resting on rectangular foot blocks. A tiered shelf projects from the header, creating a balanced, well-proportioned chimneypiece carved from Stazzema, a marble heavily figured by swathes of dark purple and rum-brown.
