Althorp Chimneypiece - White Marble

This delicate, beautifully drawn and carved white marble fireplace features corner blocks carved with circular paterae, decorated with flowers, above inverted obelisk jambs. The frieze supports a wealth of beautiful detail, with a running band of small and large twisted guilloche interspersed with delicate flower heads.
