Based on an early Goklan Kilim from Turkmenistan circa 1800, made of camel hair, wool and cotton, the original piece was attributed to the flatweaves of the Turkmen tribes. These types of kilims were used as rugs, as well as tent hanging partitions. This screen print shows the detail of the original weave, found by Orlando, who felt it would make a unique addition to the collection with its detailed 'stitching'.
